A great back up chair

Update: 9-01-23 I need a REALLY GOOD back up chair so my old back up can be retired. The seat can be used for the Borg Chair. Franken Chair showed up after months of checking eBay. It only takes a moment to look at the eBay auctions. Expand All Blog Entries What's in a name? What do you call a chair that's assembled from parts of various chairs? The parts are correct for the chair. It's missing a couple of minor parts. My old back up chair will provide those parts. Except the legrest, everything appears to be brand new. Even the batteries charged and ran like new. What Does It Need? Replace missing hardware and tighten the rest. Adjust everything to fit me. Replace the ICS switch box and bracket with the box and bracket from my old M3. Install the headrest from my old M3. Install the ICS control module from my old M3. The Franken Chair ICS module needs to be reprogrammed. Replace the footrest with the power legrest from my old M3. Install the power port and the power box that I built for my old M3. The Borg Chair has different needs, but the box is a perfect fit for Franken Chair. 6-23-23 - Franken Chair Ordered The cost is part of the Borg Chair project because it's allowing me to swipe the seat from the worn out M3. The old M3 is worn out, but it's the only back up I've got until Franken Chair is ready for the road. $1,037.00 including shipping 6-29-23 - Franken Chair Delivered WOW! Six days is quick shipping and they didn't damage the chair. The parts that are important to me all look like new. I spent about six hours working on it. Replaced a bunch of missing nuts and bolts. Adjusted everything that's adjustable. I knew the leg rest was old garbage from another chair. It will be replaced with the leg rest assembly from my old back-up chair, but for now I got the crappy leg rest working. 7-6-23 - Seat To Floor Height The seat to floor height is set at 19-1/2 inches. It makes the footrests two inches further off the floor. It's two inches harder to get in and out of. It's two inches harder to get under a table. 7-9-23 - Sucky Sucky Leg Rest The legrest is the only bad part on the chair. My old M3 may have 5,000 miles on it, but it was VERY well cared for, never abused in any way. The foot rest is in great shape. Watch the video to see the footrest swap. Long ago this would have been no problem. Now? It took all my energy for an entire day.
